The GN6932 (often interchangeable with the TA6932) is a dedicated LED display driver and control IC manufactured by GN Semic. It is widely used in microcontrollers and consumer electronics to easily manage and illuminate complex multi-segment LED displays.
Operating Voltage: 3 – 5.5V
Type: LED Display Driver / Controller
It integrates high-voltage drive circuits specifically for LEDs
Supports both Common Cathode and Common Anode configurations and has adjustable “glow” or brightness levels
It features an internal MCU digital interface, allowing a microcontroller to control the display via a 3-wire serial interface (CLK, DIN, STB)
Configuration: Drives up to 8 segments *16 digits
Current Approximately 20mA for segments and 80mA for digits
The GN6932 is a specialized LED display driver and controller IC primarily used to power multi-segment display screens (like those on household appliances or industrial instruments).
Supports software-controlled dimming (often called “adjustable glow”).
Features an internal data latch/register mapping the display grid and segments.
Interface: Serial interface (typically 3-wire: CLK, DIN, STB)
It is widely used in consumer electronics, automotive dashboards, and industrial equipment to control multi-segment LED displays and digital tubes
