RGB LED 10mm
Br 60.00
- A 10mm RGB LED is a large, through-hole light-emitting diode (LED) with a 10mm diameter that contains separate red, green, and blue (RGB) light chips in a single package, allowing it to mix these primary colors to create millions of different colors for indicators or displays in DIY electronics projects, requiring resistors for each color pin to control brightness.
- Size: 10mm diameter, making it a large, bright, and easily visible component, often used for status indicators.
- Color Mixing: Contains individual Red, Green, and Blue LEDs that can be controlled independently to produce any color in the spectrum.
- Types: Can be transparent (clear lens) or diffused (frosted lens for a softer glow)
- Pin Configuration: It has 4 pins, with one pin as a Common Cathode (negative, connects to ground), and the other three pins for Red, Green, and Blue.
- Operation: Each color channel usually draws around 20mA, requiring a current-limiting resistor for each color to prevent burning out the LED, notes BC Robotics and Adafruit.
- Common Cathode type
- Forward Voltage / Direct Current : DC 3 Volt 20 mA (Red Color is 2 Volt 20 mA)
- Polarity : Anode (Shorter Part) and Cathode (Longer Part)

- 10mm Clear Transparent Round Small Lens (Viewing Angle: 30 degrees)
- 10mm Frosted Transparent Round Small Lens (Viewing Angle: 30 degrees)
How it Works (Common Cathode Example)
- Connect the Common cathode pin to your ground
- Connect the Red, Green, and Blue pins to a current-limiting resistor, then to Vcc(3V).
- By varying the current (or using PWM) through each resistor, you control the intensity of each color, creating different hues.
